Our Core Values

Our core values are, Loving-kindness, Respect and Aspiration.  In the Junior School, they are given their Christian distinctiveness by being grounded in the Christian story.  Our core values are the heartbeat of our school, pulsing through our curriculum and wider provision, policies and planning, and day-to-day interactions and decisions.

Loving-kindness

At Liphook Federation, Loving-kindness is

  • Knowing that we all count
  • Nurturing self-worth and building confidence
  • Adding love to the world, not hate
  • Having compassion for all
  • Forgiveness and rebuilding
  • Supporting everyone to feel and do better by being ‘insistent, persistent and consistent with a bucketful of kindness’

Love one another as I have loved you.  John 13:34

We learn about loving-kindness by reading the stories of:

The Lost Sheep

A shepherd searches for one lost sheep because each one is precious. This shows that God loves and cares for everyone.

The Story of the Prodigal Son

A father forgives his son who made mistakes. This shows that God always welcomes us back with love.

The Unforgiving Servant

A man is forgiven but refuses to forgive others. This teaches us that if God forgives us, we should forgive others too.

Respect

At Liphook Federation Respect meansAn illustration of a handshake

  • Building positive connections
  • Valuing each other and working well together
  • Every voice matters, every voice is heard
  • Kind hands, kind feet and kind words
  • Celebrating and valuing difference
  • Remembering to say Sorry, Thank you, Excuse me, Please
  • Being grateful for what we have
  • Looking after the environment

Treat people like we want to be treated.  Matthew 7:12

We learn about Respect by reading the stories of:

The Good Samaritan

A man helps a stranger in need.  This shows that we should show care for everyone.

Jesus Washes the Disciples' Feet

Jesus humbly washes his friends’ feet to serve them.  This shows that we should be kind and put others first.

The First Disciples

Jesus chooses ordinary people to be his followers, seeing their worth. This teaches us to value everyone: we all have something to give.

 Aspiration

At Liphook Federation Aspiration meansAspiration

  • Believing that we can achieve our very best
  • Igniting a life-long love of learning, supported by our Learning Hearts
  • Persevering and having a growth mindset
  • Having the courage to embrace challenge and to step outside our comfort zone
  • Asking for help and support when needed
  • Admitting our mistakes and learning from them
  • Developing a strong moral compass: having the courage to take the right path, not necessarily the easy path

With God all things are possible.  Matthew 19:26

We learn about Aspiration by reading the stories of:

David and Goliath

A young boy, David, faced a giant and won.  This shows that with courage and trust in God, we can overcome big challenges.

Daniel and the Lion's Den

Daniel stayed safe in the lions’ den, even when it was very dangerous.  This shows the power of faith and prayer.

Build your House upon a Rock

The wise man built his house on the rock, not the sand.  If we build our lives on core values, we will remain strong.

Our values are the heart of our Gingerbread Child. The Gingerbread Child represents the qualities and values we strive to nurture in every child. Across a seven-year journey within our Federation, children develop a strong foundation that prepares them for lifelong learning and success.
