Safeguarding

At Liphook Federation, we are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children.  We expect all staff, volunteers, governors, supply staff and visitors to share this commitment.

To ensure the highest standards of care and vigilance, we have a comprehensive Child Protection Policy and robust safeguarding procedures in place.  These are regularly reviewed and reflect all current statutory guidance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and Working Together to Safeguard Children.

All staff – including supply staff, volunteers and governors – are required to be familiar with, and follow, our safeguarding procedures.  Every member of staff receives annual safeguarding training, with regular updates throughout the year to reinforce best practice and maintain a strong safeguarding culture.

We recognise that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.  Sometimes, we may need to share information and work in partnership with external agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare.  Wherever possible, we will discuss these concerns with parents or carers first unless doing so would place the child at greater risk.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is:

Mrs Jacqueline Taylor

Our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads are:

What to do if you are concerned

If you are concerned about a child’s welfare, please contact the school office so that they can immediately find a Safeguarding Lead for you to talk to. Alternatively, you can call Hampshire Children’s Services on 0300 5551384 or the Police.

Equally, if your concerns relate to the actions or behaviour of a member of staff (which could suggest that they are unsuitable to work with children) please ask to speak to a member of SLT in confidence, who will refer the matter to the Executive Headteacher (or the Chair of Governors if the concern relates to the Executive Headteacher) and procedures will be followed.
